|
Project detail
|
The first phase of the project involved
installation of a fiber optic LAN which connects
the value added tax administration buildings
with two other buildings and the installed LAN
is connected with nine other sites inside and
outside Khartoum to form a WAN. Also, in
this phase of the project five servers were
supplied and actuated namely an Exchange Server,
Proxy Server, Backup domain server, Primary
domain server, and database server. Furthermore,
as part of this phase an intranet used by Inland
Revenue staff was installed. The next phase
of the project will involve connecting other
buildings of the Inland Revenue with LANs and
connecting each LAN to the existing WAN. |
|
Comments |
This project stands out among others because it
represents the type of large scale projects
Datanet is capable of executing effectively. The
next phase of the project will be completing the
installation of LANS, expanding the WAN, supply
of computer application necessary for the day to
day running of Inland revenue offices, and
providing the necessary training to the
organization personnel. |

Project
description |
Installation of WAN, MAN, LAN, and video
conferencing networks. |
|
Project detail
|
This project involved installation of LANs which
connect four adjacent buildings. Three of the
buildings were wired using U.T.P Cat6 cables
while the fourth building was wired up to the
desktop using fiber optic only. This project is
the first to introduce wall to desktop fiber
connections in Sudan. The project was executed
by the help of a foreign supervisor and using
the Datanet's own staff. In this phase the four
buildings were connected with fiber optic to
form an MAN and then they are connected to the
DataCloud to form a WAN which in turn connects
the MAN with many states all over Sudan. |
|
Comments |
This is one of Datanet's outstanding projects
because of the speed with which the first phase
of the project was executed. In the first phase
a fiber optic local network to connect the
council building was installed. The LAN work
involved supply of the equipments, connection of
270 nodes and installation and testing of the
whole network. The first phase was completed in
22 days. |
